| | Controlling mute or line out in Vista I posted this before and got no replies so I thought I would try again. I use my line in on my computer to broadcast my police scanner via the internet to a server on another computer hosting service. In Vista I can find no way to turn line out off or mute like in XP. So I dont have to listen to the audio playing when I listen to my computer music etc. Is there any way to do this now. This would be aweful that u cant mute only certain things now. If you do this type of activity you you will understand my problem. Using build 5384. HP 1330n 3700amd and latest beta realtek drivers... Thanks if u have any suggestions |

| | Re: Controlling mute or line out in Vista Click the Start button, type aud and click Audio Devices and Sound Themes. If the drivers are working for all your devices, you should be able to control everything from there. You can also get to Audio Devices and Sound Themes through Control Panel. | Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit | Re: Controlling mute or line out in Vista I found a workaround for this. At least its working for me. I'm recording some tapes through line-in in Vista and find it annoying to not be able to mute the line-in sound. But you can try to set the level of line-in to 0 so you won’t hear it through the speakers. This is how to do it: - Go Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound - in the Playback tab select Speakers and click Properties - in the Levels tab drag the Line In lever to “0” - then click OK and once again OK It’s working for me.
