Vista does not recognize my firewire input from my ZR45MC Canon DV

Vista recognizes that I have hooked up my ZR45MC camera via firewire but says
that I need a driver, which it is unable to find on windows update. Thus I
can no longer use my camera for videos that I then put on DVDs. It worked
great in XP. Canon says it's Microsofts problem becuase it's firewire, but no
where is ther anything about this on Microsoft help. One suggestion to change
the registry from the Knowledgebase did nothing.
Anyone else having this problem?
