C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\ Windows Photo Gallery\Pictures.pd4 The file can also be found with an Advanced Search for pd4. Go to...Start / Search / Advanced Search. Check the box..."Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files" Enter pd4 in the Name field and left click the Search button. -- John Inzer MS Picture It! - Digital Image MVP Digital Image Highlights and FAQs http://support.microsoft.com/ph/695 Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |

Did you close Photo Gallery and rename your Pictures.pd4 file to OLD_Pictures.pd4? -- John Inzer MS Picture It! - Digital Image MVP Digital Image Highlights and FAQs http://support.microsoft.com/ph/695 Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |

| | Re: Photo Gallery Runtime Error Sorry, yes. I then opened Photo Gallery and waited while it updated tags and thumbnails; it got so far doing that, then crashed with the same error. Ok thanks...apparently a corrupted database is not the cause of the problem. Here's another guess.....maybe you have an issue with your video driver. Try reducing your Graphics Hardware Acceleration as per the instructions in the following article. (272193) PI: How to Troubleshoot Graphics Issues http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=272193 (scroll down to: Windows Vista) If reducing your Graphics Hardware Acceleration cleared up the issue...you need to update your video driver. Once the driver is updated...return your acceleration to Full. Go to the support website of your video adapter's mfg. and search for Vista compatible drivers. If you don't know the make and model of your video adapter...check the documentation that came with the computer. Also you could try these steps... Go to...Start / Search...type... msinfo32 ...press enter. On the System Information screen...choose... Components / Display / Adapter Description You should find the make and model of your display adapter as well as the driver version. If the driver on the support website is more current than the one you are running... download it and install it. Also you should find installation instructions at the support site. -- John Inzer MS Picture It! - Digital Image MVP Digital Image Highlights and FAQs http://support.microsoft.com/ph/695 Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |
