| | Error code 80070052 when copying photos I am trying to copy some photos off the hard drive onto an SD card. I have managed to copy dozens already but now get the error code "80070052 - the directory or file cannot be created". I still have 906MB of free space on a 1 gig card, so it cannot be lack of free space. Please help! -- Regards, John S |

| | RE: Error code 80070052 when copying photos I had this same problem and solved it as follows: Reformat the SD Card - this will delete all content. Then Make a new Folder and copy ALL photos into this folder. I was experiencing exactly the same problem as you and found there seems to be a limit on the number of "items" that can be saved onto the card, regardless of how much memory is available - the folder only counts as one item, no matter how many photos are copied in to it. I have filled a 1GB card for use on a digital photo frame with no problem at all, since I started copying them into the single folder. I hope this helps "John S" wrote: Quote: > I am trying to copy some photos off the hard drive onto an SD card. | Vista Home Premium | Re: Error code 80070052 when copying photos WOW. Thanks, Hazelnut, for the answer to John's problem as it was my problem as well. Now I have unlimited use of the 2G SD card that had only accepted 309 items. Really great when a simple solution is available. Miriam |
