STILL having problems with Media Player=HELP

Still having problems and Microsoft cannot help.
They said I am creating WMA when I should be creating CDA....

Well, ALL was working fine a month and 1/2 ago..I did do a Media Player
update in Nov. ( this thing stopped working mid Nov) and I cannot do a system
restore as HORRID VISTA will only let you go back ONE month- NOT LIKE xp
where you can pick any calendar date as a restore point.

I am scared to do a system restore as I think I might create even MORE
PROBLEMS than I already have.

DO I go back to the date closest to today or go back a full month if I try a
system restore..??? I don't want to lose restore points if I need them
later....

So far MICROSOFT at $59 cannot help at all..........this sooooooo sucks

Just to clarify...are you saying when you create
a music/audio CD as per the article below...the
resulting files on the CD when examined by right
clicking the icon for the drive and choosing Explore
are .wma and not .cda?

Windows Media Player 11 for Windows Vista
Burn Your Own Customized Audio CDs

What was the format of the music files before
creating the music CD?

Re: STILL having problems with Media Player=HELP

Microsoft had me put the newly recorded CD's ( which do NOT play on my own CD
player) back into the computer's cd/dvd slip- it did play in there as a wma
AND not as a CDA ( which is what I previously was getting when I burned a CD
for my free standing CD player)...they cannot help me..

If you know any way to help, I am all ears..by the way. Toshiba had me try
to create a CDA in their Create CD and it ALSO came out as a WMA and NOT a
CDA.

Any ideas as I am frazzled...........

Re: STILL having problems with Media Player=HELP

John-

With VISTA, the system restore only goes back ONE MONTH...
it is normal with XP as you can pick any date on the calendar year, but
Vista from HELL does not work like a normal system...It totally sucks and I
HATE it...It has been nothing but problems since I got it last Jan.

BTW- the notify me of replies does work but you have to CHECK the little box
on the lower left every time you answer a post and want a reply sent to
u............

Thanks for the info...but just for laughs...do you
think you could humor an old man and answer
the question I asked?

One more time:

If you right click the icon for the drive the CD is
in and choose Explore...what is the extension
on the music files?
