convert avi to wmv

I have downloaded movies from my camera shot in avi to my computer. I need
to convert them to wmv files to use in powerpoint.

Is there free software i can download to do this? I've searched on google
but am unsure which one to use.

....or is there a way of doing it with windows vista anyway?

thanks

Re: convert avi to wmv

import it as a single clip... uncheck the option when importing for auto
clip splitting.

drag it to the project timeline or storyboard and do File > Save Movie

It's not called converting... it's what happens when you make a movie... in
your case a single clip saved to a wmv file type would be considered a
conversion.
