Vista Tutorial - Cant get pictures into Windows photo gallery

I have downloaded pics from memory cards before, and they just automatically
load. Now, I when I insert the memory card, I am not able to view the pics?
Any suggetions??

Just open WPG and click on File - Import from Camera or Scanner
select your card (it should show up under Other Devices).

Neither my card nor my camera on USB activate autoplay. But they are
connected as drives, and can be manually accessed.

When i opened WPG and clicked on file nothing came up under other devices ,
but my memory card is incerted into my computer , but nothing shows up and i
cant figure out how to upload them . Any help ?
