| | Windows Photo Gallery error when trying to save changes We are experiencing a problem with Windows Photo Gallery in Vista Home Premium. After editing a picture (.jpg) -- e.g. cropping or red eye correction -- when we try to save the edited picture, we receive the following error message and the corrected photo is not saved: "Changes to this picture can't be saved because Photo Gallery has experienced a problem." The error doesn't happen every time we try to edit photos, but it happens more often than not. |

| | Re: Windows Photo Gallery error after editing photos Yes, this is true; there is no "save" option in WPG. I'll alter the Subject to be more accurate. But, when I attempt to "Make a copy," or simply close the editing session, which automatically saves the edited photo and creates a backup, then the error will occur. The error report is sent to Microsoft, but a solution is never proffered. It's strange because this error doesn't occur with every Windows session; it's a roll of the dice. | | Re: Windows Photo Gallery error after editing photos The edited photo is not saved and if you want a corrected photo without red eye, cropped, etc and upload to a service like snapfish for actual printing, processing or special photo books or gifts, you are SOL. So we need a fix or will have to switch to another program. "jgkoch" wrote: Quote: > Yes, this is true; there is no "save" option in WPG. | Vista Home Premium | Re: Windows Photo Gallery error when trying to save changes I can get edits to work if I open WPG as administrator from the start/programs window. This seems to happen with many programs that used to work. Some update seems to change permissions.????????? |

| vista ultimate 32 | Re: Windows Photo Gallery error when trying to save changes HELP! I can't save any changes to my photos in Windows Photo Gallery OR Windows Live Photo Gallery. I get the 'you don't have permission' error. It worked last week, but not this week. I'm unemployed and selling my coin collection on eBay to pay my bills, but I won't have any income this week if I can't edit these scans! (The scans are just not good enough to post as they are, they need lightening at least.) TYSVM anyone who can help! |

| Vista Home Premium | Re: Windows Photo Gallery error when trying to save changes Try opening either photo program from the start menu/programs of Vista with a right click, and run it as administrator from the drop down menu. I have to do this even though I am the administrator and only one on my PC. I believe there is a bug in Vista causing this. I have tried resetting the permissions for photo programs and still I have to open as administrator each time. Very annoying. |
