WMV files work on Windows Vista by default. All sorts of fun things (codec
packs are not your friend) like to stomp on Windows settings.
What happens when you try this?
You do not need any codec packages here. They would not help you. This was
already working until it got broken. =\ What changed?
Was VLC installed by itself or with other things?
