Vista - cannot play music from internet

Before I went to Vista, I could click on a preview or sample in sites like
allmusic.com ou freeplaymusic.com and a small fractionated window appeared on
my browser and played sample. I was with Windows Millenium at that time. Now,
clicking on link opens a window that states a connection failure to internet
!! What is wrong ?
