| | CD-rom is not reading CDs and DVDs... Hi. I'm having a problem that I cannot play CDs and DVDs.... When I started Windows after 2,3days after I shut down, my CD-rom is not working properly. It tries to read, CDs/DVDs but nothing is happening after few seconds. Is there anything I can do? |

This is all for Windows XP... this error #10 is for VISTA and it is not reading the DRIVE, not the CD or the DVD itself. the error says it cannot load the driver but the driver software is up to date. "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" is the only help given in the device troubleshooting. It was working fine up until yesterday! Now the drive shows as a data drive with nothing in it even when there is a CD in it... Any help would be appreciated. VISTA'S website offers nothing... | 32bit vista home premuim-SP2 | Re: CD-rom is not reading CDs and DVDs... Do you have Itunes installed on your computer? I understand that Itunes in Vista causes this problem. Something to do with the upper and lower filters. ( Not necessarily Itunes) Have a read. The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista |
