windows media center and satellite tv

i had to reinstall vista home premium.
now my media center will not go to channel 73.
this is the channel wms needs to be on in order to recieve the signal.
i think when i first installed vista.i just changed to channel 73.
i have already been thru tuner setup 20 or more times.
dont know if i just missed a step or what
    thanks

73?????? You'd get a better signal if you connected your satellite box via
S-Video cable. I think you're trying to connect via composite. My Dish
Network 311 (connected to my desktop Vista Ultimate) comes in perfectly on
S-Video, I believe if I chose the lower resolution composite it would come
    in on Channel 3.

If channel 73 then I assume you are outside the US and that you are using a
RF coax antenna connection from your satellite box.
You are not using a pure video connection such as S-video lower quality
pure video composite which is actually a subset of S-video since you can get
a S-video to composite adapter for a few dollars. The adapter is one way
you can not convert composite to S-Video with an adapter.
Composite uses a yellow RCA connector and has absolutely nothing to do with
a RF connection such as channel 3 or 4 in the US or channel 73 in Europe

Re: windows media center and satellite tv

Is your satellite box connected directly to you PC tuner card's antenna
connection with no other connections involved?
Is channel 73 the only output channel that your satellite box has available?
Are you using DirecTV or Dish satellite service?
