Movie Maker/DVD Maker - no audio playback

I've created a couple movies in the past and they worked fine, and still do. The one I just created plays, and I can see the audio playing, but there's no sound. I checked to see if I accidently hit mute, but that's not the problem. I have the same problem with the DVD Maker. I'm very frustrated and any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Movie Maker/DVD Maker - no audio playback

I've had the same thing when simply playing a video/movie.
I used the audio manager tool to check and test the sound system.
In my case its "RealTek Audio manager" (comes with my dell system 7.1)
After doing this, my sound worked fine.

Re: Movie Maker/DVD Maker - no audio playback

Thanks Tasman. I found the RealTek Audio manager, but didn't see any tool that I could use to check the sound (I have an HP). The sound on my computer works fine except for in this software. I imported the movie into a trial version of ULead VideoStudio 11 and it plays just fine, but ULead isn't free. From what I've read on this board, I'm not the only person who has run into this problem, but unfortunately I haven't seen any solutions to it. I even e-mailed HP, but they couldn't help either. Any other thoughts? Thanks again...
