| | DVDs won't play correctly with Vista Media Center/Player after SP1 Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help with this. I upgraded my Vista Home Premium installation couple of days agao with service pack 1 and now when I try to play any DVD using media center or media player, all I get are a screen full of rainbow colored squares. The audio track is fine so I know the disc is playing. And the even stranger thing is, if I open VLC and play the DVD in there, it works fine. DVDs would play fine in media center or media player before I upgraded and now they don't work. Here are my system specs.... Vista Home Premium SP1 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz RAM 2,00 GB NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS with 256MB Graphics memory SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC Atheros AR5005GS Wireless Network Adapter Philips DVD-ROM DROM6316 Regards, danmyman |

| | Re: DVDs won't play correctly with Vista Media Center/Player after The solution for me was that I used Microsofts free of charge chat for Service Pack 1 users and they helped me to deinstall the NVIDIA graphics card driver and after reinstallation everything worked fine again. I had a very friendly and competent Microsoft employee who got me through it in a breeze. Can only recommend it! regards, danmyman |
