Vista - Video Play Time Delay

Hello,

I apologize upfront if this has been asked before. There are SO many
posts, I just dont have time to go through all of them. As it is I
should have been in be two hours ago.

I am using Windows Movie Maker 6.0 with Windows Vista. I am editing a
30 minute video file that I have cut into smaller clips, and am
trimming to delete excess footage and highligh just want I want for the
final product. I have not added any additional music.

The problem that I am having, it that I will be playing the video, come
to the spot that I want to trim, pause the video, and then trim it.
When I play it back it will show a still image of the beginning of the
clip, the time with continue about 10 sec or so, then the video and
sound will start. The 2 problems this creates is the pause at the
beginning of each clip and then it gets cut off before the end trim
spot because it runs out of time before moving to the next where it
does this again.

How do I remove the time delay so that it will play right? Is it a
setting that I need to change? Is there more that I need to understand
about trimming the clips?

I'm not the most technically minded, but even I can tell that the Help
menu is completely worthless, unless you you have never ever worked
with a movie editor before. I have limited experience, and it is
driving me crazy that I can't seem to find the answers I need.

I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me!!
