| | Windows Photo Gallery COLOR DEPTH ISSUE Hi, I read mostly the posts that could suit to this issue, but still not solved. ONLY In WPG the color depth seems to be poor. Not truecolor (24bit), max highcolor (16bit) or less. I read that for some people has icm issue (yellowish, sepia, etc) resolved by changing the profile. My colors are -lets say- right, but it looks like being posterized in Photoshop. It is a fresh Vista Home Premium, with ATI 2400 Pro and Dell WFP2407. I put yesterday the SP1, but nothing has changed. OK, I am not in love with WPG - I use picasa, photoshop - but really uncomfortable feeling. If someone has the same problem or know any solution, please help me! |

| | Re: Windows Photo Gallery COLOR DEPTH ISSUE AFAIK Photo Gallery only uses the system color settings so it couldn't change the colour depth of the display. Neither should an ICM profile, though that would affect colour quality if the wrong profile is used. Have you tried installing the latest video card drivers from AMD/ATI? In Windows you should be using the ICM profile provided for your monitor or perhaps none at all if you are using a profile in Photoshop. Be careful that you aren't double correcting the color in Photoshop by using an ICM profile within that software on top of the correction Windows is already doing.
