Vista - viewpoint media player

i have a year old laptop,vista hme prem.
in my Installed Programs I See-veiwpoint media player-installed on 2/07.
this program has given its icon to my windows media player.
i think this is a part of AOL,but i never had aol, but tried to install it
once.
do i need this now that i've had it for so long? How can i ride this?

why does Veiwpoint use Window media player icon in -Installed Programs-?

It's randomly installed with AOL. It should have an entry in the Uninstall
Programs control panel. If not, contact Viewpoint and ask them to sort this
out for you. I've certainly sent them heated mails in the past. =P
