Playing Vista Movie in XP

Is there a way to play a movie maker movie created in Vista on an XP machine?
It says it isn't supported. Surely there's a patch or SOMETHING!

If you are exporting the .mswmm project file...
the answer is...no the XP version of Movie
Maker cannot play it.

However if you publish your Vista Movie Maker
project in a movie format (.wmv or .avi)...you
should be able to play it on most any computer
with Windows Media Player and/or Movie Maker.

Maybe the following links will be useful:

Re: Playing Vista Movie in XP

Yes, but you have to PUBLISH it first (create a .wmv). You can't use the
..MSWMM file, it's not the published movie. It's only the recipe for
creating it.
