How Do I Create Chapters In Windows Movie Maker?

I have 12 sections created on my storyboard- all split at precise moments,
but when I go to Burn a DVD, the program automatically creates chapters at
random. How can I control chapter splits so that each chapter starts and
ends when I want. I've got a collection of family home movies and would like
it to be simple for family members to locate the chapters that they want to
watch without having to fish through random chapters. What's the point of
having chapters if you can't define start and endpoints? I appreciate any
help. Thanks!

Re: How Do I Create Chapters In Windows Movie Maker?

While I can't claim to understand the DVD Maker chapter-making-algorithm, I
found this information for some help:

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...51033.mspx#E6F
-- 'How are scenes created for my DVD?"

I also copied this from an earlier entry in this newsgroup:

“DVD Maker: The Best way to do Chapter breaks. Since you are working in
Movie Maker anyway, (and as I understand it, you are splitting videos where
you want the chapters) simply save each chapter as its OWN .MSWMM file
(movie project) load them into DVD maker in proper order and each project
will be its own 'chapter' under the 'scenes' menu. From my knowledge, I do
this when burning TV series, DVD maker still split each 'scene' into more
chapters, the 'scenes' menu will show the splits you made with the
individual .MSWMM files.”

Not complete I know, but hope this helps.

Re: How Do I Create Chapters In Windows Movie Maker?

Since you experience the availability of chapters while playing a DVD video
or DVD video image on hard disk, you use your DVD video creation software to
create chapters. WMM can't do it.

Since you are in a Vista forum I'll
guess you are running Vista?

Here's some info on creating chapters
