HP dv8333cl Notebook has Flashing Windows Media - bad driver info

I am going to sending this information about a chat I had. This is only
meant to helpwhoeveer needs it.

At the request of your support, during a chat session, I tried to upgrade my
Video Drivers using the sp34761 Nividia update for 7400. This was due to
flickering on the Media Center.

When I tried to do the initial upgrade, it took a considerable amount of
time - 1 hour+. After the upgrade the computer wanted to dump memory to the
disk in a blue screens referring to the nv4 mini_sys.

After 4 attempts to reload the drivers, which only took about 1 or 2 minutes
each time, I was going to call back in. I had no problems with the XP, but
the Vista upgrade seemed, according to MS, cause the problem. (NOTE:
According to my Notebook, both on the keyboard and the device manager, I
have a "GeForce GO 7600" not a 7400 if it makes a difference.)

A few curious events occurred during some of the attempts. One was the loss
of the Bluetooth driver, which I was able to restore through the device
manager. Another was the triggering of the autoplay on the 2.0gb SD1 Card I
was using as a "ReadyBoost". The initial attempt, that took so long, caused
the display to cycle through several changes in appearance during the first
few minutes of the hour session.

Bottom line.... I went into the Device Manager again, opened the Display
adapter heading, opened the NVIDIA GeForce GO 7600 adapter, pulled up the
Driver screen and pressed the "Update Driver". Took about 60 seconds, the
driver version changed to 7.15.10.9727, 11/16/2006. No more blinking, no
more blue screens, no more crashing and the bluetoothand SD card work fine.
