i am on windows movie maker and i try to import a mp3 and it says i need to

I would download and install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.
You will also see other benefits, your Windows Media Player will be able to play back
practically any kind of video or audio file.

Where did you get that file from? That sounds like that particular mp3 file
is corrupt.

I'm not having any issues with my WMP11 (Vista Ultimate SP1 x86) but I've read zachd's linked page and have found it extremely useful! thank you!
