Windows Vista Home premium and Movie maker 6

I have bought a Canon MD 150 and a Acer Travelmate 7520 with 2 Gigabits
work memory. When I have recording a film and shall transmit the film to the
computer, the movie maker-programme starts in a right matter and I follow
the instructions and the camera starts the transmission. The film is going in
the cameras display, but on the computer it stops and show a still picture
for some seconds and then jump over a sekvens, shows a sekvens, stop again on
a still picture for some sekonds. After sone minute the transmissio stops.
When I look at the transmitted part it is short sekvenses of about 6-9
seconds. That between the film has not been taken up. On another computer
with Windows XP and moviemaker the transmission is function good. Therefore I
think, it is no problem with the camera. I also think it is not the computer
either. I have installed codec pack again. I have given high priority to the
movie maker programme etc. I have been in contact in Sweden with Canon,
Acer, the selling firm and Microsoft. Canon says that when the camera is
function, it is not their probleme. Microsoft refer to Acer, then the Windows
Vista programme and movie maker was installed, when I bought the computer.
Acer Have tried to help me without results and then refer back to Microsoft.
The Selling firms support is in this case nothing to write home about.
However I have with one occasion coming through in microsofts support and got
some help but with no result. I have now tried in three weeks sitting in
telephone que. What shall I do.

There could be many reasons but we will start from the basics.

The Canon MD 150 is a mini DV camera yes?...if so you need to capture with firewire connection.

Also you need lots of room on hard drive to capture the video and also use the capture software that came with the Canon Video camera.

How are you transmitting the film? USB or firewire? Firewire should work
much better here....
