| | Windows Photo Gallery won't find contents of Pictures folder The gallery is empty and i can't add the pictures folder because it says "this folder or one of its parent folders is a system folder, its recommended that you move your pictures to the pictures folder or to anther folder." I think the picture folder is for some reason not accessible by window's native programs. I've checked the "shell folder" and "user shell folder" keys, they're all correct. the only thing i can think of is restoring the original registry entries that pertain to photo gallery. I'm not comfortable with this issue so help would be great. You Can contact me at RobertWHurst@xxxxxx with a solution. spammers beware, don't send me garbage emails, i have ways at getting back at you, lol. |

It may be worth a try to rename or delete the Photo Gallery Pictures.pd4 databbase. C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\ Windows Photo Gallery\Pictures.pd4 The file can also be found with an Advanced Search for pd4. Go to...Start / Search / Advanced Search. Check the box..."Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files" Enter pd4 in the Name field Renaming or deleting the .pd4 file should clean up your Photo Gallery. Try renaming it... Pictures.OLD If you are unhappy with the results...you can try changing it back to Pictures.pd4. -- John Inzer Digital Media MVP Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |
