| Guest | Garbled video during DVD playback in Vista Media Center Hi, I've just installed Vista Home Premium SP1 and the DVD playback picture is all garbled in Media Center - lots of mainly green, pink and purple blocks with an occasional flicker of a proper image. The audio is fine and playback with PowerDVD is fine too (dont want to use this as I cant get 5.1ch sound without buying it), I have uninstalled PowerDVD but to no avail. I get the same problem with Media Player 11. Basic spec of the pc is as follows: Processor: AMD Athlon 2.4 GHz RAM: 1GB Video: ATI 2100 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 250GB SATA II Can anyone give me some ideas as to what is going wrong? I've got all the latest hardware drivers installed Thank you Mark |

Did you try updating your video driver from the manufacturer's support site? -- John Inzer Digital Media MVP Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |

| Guest | Re: Garbled video during DVD playback in Vista Media Center Hi John, Thank you for your suggestion, the video driver installed is from the driver disk that came with the motherboard, I have checked the ATI website for updated drivers but my adapter isnt even listed. I suppose I could uninstall it and try the generic Windows driver and see how that works. The problem I have is that this all worked with a trial installation of Vista Home Premium (not SP1), but now I have bought my own copy things seem to be going wrong! I'll try the driver idea and let you know what happens. Mark |
