My question seems very simple, but I can't seem to find an answer.



I want to compress a 10MB WAV file to under 300KB. I tried using Sound
Recorder, but apparently MSFT has changed the functionality of that so you
can no longer use it for that in Vista. I tried downloading the Encoder
software, per another post, but apparently it's not supported by my processor
type (Intel Centrino Duo).

I just want to compress it so I can use it as a ring tone on my cell phone.
Any help, please??

There's no great WAV editing tools there, so you would need to download a
WAV editor of your choice. Tools like Audacity should work fine.
