Vista - Questions about Windows Photo gallery

Here are some questions about Windows Photo gallery:
- Where can I check the version number of this software?
- What is the difference between Windows Photo Gallery and the Windows Live
Gallery software?
- I live in France. How can i download the english latest version of this
software? The download links will always send me to the french version. Same
thing for Windows Live Messenger!
