| Guest | TCP/IP Limit Reached when using WMP 11 Hi everyone This question may fit into a couple of catagories, but since it only happens when something starts WMP 11, I figured here is as good as any. Almost every time that I start something that opens WMP 11 (in Vist Hm Pr SP1 64bit, but using 32bit WMP), I get the popup stating that the "TCP/IP has reached the security limit Check running processes". This also seems to only happen with Video files and not Audio...and it doesn't make a difference if it's a streaming video from the WWW or a video I made myself and click to play it...I get that darn TCP/IP limit popup. It's not everytime that this happens, but it is everytime that WMP first plays a video file after booting or rebooting up, and then it probably happens 7 out of 10 times afterwards or so. I have ALL areas of WMP set to not access the Internet for any Media info, I have CODECS set to not to D'load automatically, so I have no idea just what is causing this to happen. Why would WMP have so many half open concurrent connection attempts when everything is set not to access the web? Why only Video files and not Audio? Has anyone else noticed this behavior? If I bring up the Active Connections list in my Firewall (Comodo Pro) it doesn't show any big run of connections by any frontend service like svchost, nor anything from WMP itself so...maybe this doesn't show half open attempts, or maybe it isn't actually happening...who knows at this point. I could go into Scheduled Events and stop this behavior, since this is triggered as a system "Scheduled Event", but there has to be a reason it's happening lik this and I'd like to find out why. Thanx Dave |
