Vista - Corrupted Pictures Folder in VISTA HOME SP1

The C:\users\name\pictures folder has become corrupted and now shows 0 files.
A search for *.jpg files in C: still shows all the files as existing under
the path c:\users\name\pictures and its previous subfolders .. but attempts
to drag & drop them from the search results pane to another c:\users\name
folder fail. Running chkdsk as a user (read only) shows 3 corrupted files.
Running chkdsk /R as administrator (after restart) has not fixed the problem.
Any suggestions on how to access these files with part of their path being
corrupted will be appreciated.

Have you tried copying and pasting instead of dragging files?

OR you could do chkdsk /f (/F = Will Automatically FIX file system errors on the disk).

If that doesn't fix it, try CCleaner, run the FULL Registry Scan, and fix EVERYTHING it finds.

That also might do the trick.

I'm guessing the reason why is because of a File Path Reference registry string. If you have installed or even UN installed anything lately, it might have altered such a path which may or may not corrupt the Value Data. There is one program in particular that I thing of that does this... Paint.NET.
