| | RE: Music Folder Album Display With the little information you've given I can suggest this: In Music Library right click on folder icon, Paste Art Here, and click on Find album or Update Album info. I've never had the problem with the Album Icons that you described, but I did have a problem with my vVdeo icons being blank in the WMP Library. If you'd like I can send you the steps I took to get the icons of my video clips back. They may work for album art work in Library, too -- oscar ![]() ....Right click is your best friend... | | RE: Music Folder Album Display Hi Oscar thank you for reply. I will explain a little better. There is My Music folder, then in this folder are all of my albums or singles. These i have in individual folders, so one folder will have all my Barry White tracks in or another has all my Amy Winehouse in. What I would like to do is have a Barry White Album cover picture on the Barry White folder or a picture of Amy Winehouse on the folder that has all her tracks in. I have the pictures for each folder but they will not copy and paste onto folder. I have tried to do it through properties & customise and it will not do it that way either. I am totally baffled. Appreciate your reply. | | RE: Music Folder Album Display I understand now. This has to be done in WMPlayer Library Go to Start Menu> Help and Support> type in “paste art here.” You’ll get a good deal of information. But since you already have the album art (or can get it on the internet) then try this: 1. Click the Library tab, and then browse to the album that is missing art. 2. Find a picture that you want to use for album art (the picture can be on your computer or on a Web page), right-click the picture, and then click Copy. The original picture can be in any of the following formats: BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, or TIFF. 3. In your library, right-click the album art box, and then click Paste Album Art. (you have to paste on an icon that says “paste art here”.) A copy of the picture is embedded into each of the songs from that album. The copy of the picture is automatically scaled to the appropriate size and converted to the JPEG format before it is embedded in the file. The original picture file is not modified. Note o If you cannot add album art manually, verify that you have permission to modify the file. For example, right-click the file, and then click Open File Location. In the folder, right-click the file, click Properties, and then clear the Read-only check box if it is selected. I've done it a couple times just to make sure it works. It does. Hope this does it for you, too. -- oscar ![]() ....Right click is your best friend... "Macvegas" wrote: Quote: > Hi Oscar thank you for reply. I will explain a little better. | | RE: Music Folder Album Display "oscar" wrote: Quote: > I understand now. Actually oscar, I think you still don't understand what he's asking. It's not the Album art in the WMP Library he's talking about, it's the actual Folder icon in his My Music Folder. In XP the album art could be displayed directly on the Folder icon but in Vista you only see the folder with either other folders inside or a file type image but it's still inside the regular folder type icon. @Macvegas AFAIK, this can't be done with the Vista icon. I think you'd have to revert back to the XP style folder icons to be able to have the album art display directly on the artist's folder the way it used to. I haven't tested this so I'm not exactly sure but I believe it's not possible with the new Vista icons. What I do is I take a copy of the album art front cover and rename it "Folder.jpg" and then have a copy inside the folder. This makes the album art image viewable inside the folder icon like the file types images are and you can basically see the album covers inside the main folder icon. If you have multiple albums inside the main folder, put the folder.jpg of each album cover inside each album's folder and then the main artist folder will show multiple image files (the first 2 anyway) inside the main folder icon. I hope that helps somewhat. |

| | RE: Music Folder Album Display Since this board doesn't support attached or embedded images, I took a couple of screenshots for you of how this looks, and uploaded them to ImageShack. This 1st one is how it looks in your Music folder of all the artist's folders. http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/8127/folderzs5.jpg This is inside of one of the artist folders, one with only a single album. The folder.jpg is a hidden folder now because it basically becomes a system folder this way. To get just the album art on the main folder you have to have the music files in another folder inside the main artist folder as you can see in this shot. http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/4...efoldernk1.jpg As you can see, I also have a folder.jpg inside of that folder too, where the actual music files are stored. http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/8...dealbumur2.jpg Now for an artist for which you have multiple albums and you want to see multiple images on the main artist folder, don't put a folder.jpg inside the main artist folder, but put one in each album subfolder with that albums cover art and you'll see 2 album images on the main folder, like you can see in the 1st imae there's one or two like that. Hope this helps "Macvegas" wrote: Quote: > When I was on XP I was Able to have album cover pictures on front of each > folder. | | RE: Music Folder Album Display Shoot....never mind the second image, it's not what I should have there, it should be this one instead. It's inside the main artist folder and shows the subfolder that has the music file in it, which is the 2nd screenshot in the above post. http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/4...efoldernk1.jpg I wish this board s'ware supported post edits and attached images, this is a PITA forum software. |

| | RE: Music Folder Album Display “…this can't be done with the Vista icon. I think you'd have to revert back to the XP style folder icons to be able to have the album art display directly on the artist's folder the way it used to.” Chappy, you are wrong! This can be done in Vista. If my posted instructions are done properly in the WMP Library, the album artwork will also show in the music folders in the Music folder. It works every time for me. It's a simple copy and paste operation which is clearly explained in Help and Support. And there is no need to be renaming .jpg files. OK, I’m done here… -- oscar ![]() ....Right click is your best friend...
