| Vista Ultimate x64 | Media Player 11: Add file(s) / Tagging Questions Hi all, since my iPod broke I wanted to get rid of iTunes and currently I'm experimenting with Media Player (since I prefer builtin solutions..). But there are a few things that bug me and I can't find anything about how to "fix" them. Maybe you can help me. First: Is it possible to add just one file to the media library and have Media Player automatically rename it? Folderwatch is great.. but it would be even better if could drag a file into a watched folder and media player takes care of the file name and folder structure on it's own. iTunes does that (the auto-renaming of a file i am adding), and I know that MP11 names and sorts files while "ripping" them from cds automatically, but isn't it possible to tell the player if I manually add some files that it should rename them according to the tags? Also, isn't it possible that it automatically changes the file location according to the ID3 tags if i change them in the library ? Well, if it is .. im unable finding the right setting in the options panel... Second: If I change the music file tags, media player doesn't seem to change the actual ID3 Tags. That's really annoying as I want to stay "compatible" to other players if i want to change my library software in the future. Having to retag all files just because media player isn't saving Meta information as ID3 tags but his own (?) format is more than annoying. Is there anything I can do about it ? Thanks for reading and enduring my bad grammar ;) Alex Last edited by lx-s; 07-14-2008 at 01:38 PM.. Reason: typos, typos.. more and more typos *sigh*... |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Media Player 11: Add file(s) / Tagging Questions Since no one can help me (asked here and in the media player newsgroup), i figure it just isn't possible yet (except by programming a plugin, but I don't have the time to do it and i'm lazy... well, it's mostly the lazy thing). Well then... anyone knows reasonable alternatives to iTunes? |
