front panel video inputs

Hi, I have hooked a VCR to the video inputs on the front of my PC. I would
like to make a copy of a tape on my hard drive. I pushed play on the VCR but
I don't see the images. What do I need to do? Thanks

Re: front panel video inputs

You need to read the manual that came with your PC to find out what
application that came with the PC will play the inputs front inputs and run
it.

VHS is Analog...for viewing/editing on a computer
you need Digital...maybe the following articles will
get you started:

Windows Vista -
Toss out those VHS tapes

or...
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...65d901033.mspx

Windows Vista -
Import video from an analog video
camera or VCR through a DV camera

or...

Using Windows DVD Maker (Vista)

(scroll down and read the paragraph: Importing analog video)

Re: front panel video inputs

I have never had any problem inputting VHS tapes to either my XP or my Vista
system.
The computer just converts the analog input to digital just like it converts
all of the analog TV signals using NTSC or Pal video format.

RE: front panel video inputs

Have you checked whether analogue input has been enabled in Media
Centre/settings?
