Vista - Windows Media Player Changes Song Titles, Albums

I tried to put the correct names on all of the songs from an old mix CD we
have. The CD had generic names, like 0101Track01 and so on. I tried
putting in the first song's name into the "Find album info" box, and clicked
OK, but then...wait for it...it renamed the rest of the songs to match that
song's original album! I tried putting the next song's name in, and it
re-titled the rest, including the one before it! Outrageous! I tried
everything, from renaming them manually in explorer to marking them as
read-only. Apparently WMP can bypass read-onlyness. What do I do?

Do NOT use "Find Album Info" for individual tracks on a custom mix CD.
Remember how they're all from the same CD/album? You used Find *Album* Info
and so WMP helpfully updated the information for that album.

For this situation, either manually edit each track or correctly identify
the **mix CD** the tracks are on, not the source CD they're from. =\

Well, that sucks. They should let you find info for a specific song. If I
did it manually, I probably wouldn't get all the information, and it would
have bad album art.
