Vista - windows movie maker dasnt work.

when i try to open a avi the windows movie maker closed.
last week it work fine, but now dasn't work more.

What sort of avi? There are hundreds, of which most don't work well in MM.

i cant open all kind of avi's and the problem was that when i try to open all kind of image files... the WMM closed it self.


I havent got in my system "nevideo.ax".

OK, do you have other crash events in the Problem Reports and Solutions
Center control panel then? The fault details of those might illuminate
this.

Only I have this problem with windows movie maker and the avi's files.
I try with wmv files and it open well... but when i try to publish the movie the program close it and dasnt do the movie created.

I think that the windows movie maker dasnt work very well...

Could you double-check for nevideo.ax being on your system? I suspect it's
there and you haven't found it yet.

Is Nero on your system?
Did you install some sort of (bogus) codec pack that might have installed
this?

You can potentially use Movie Maker's Tools:Options:Compatibility menu
option to disable third party filters that might be breaking Movie Maker.

Yes i have installed NERO.

and in compatibility menu..... filters.... there is a list al least 10 filters added.

i try to unckeck all of thems and the problem continue.

Huh - that's very interesting that you don't have "nevideo.ax" but do have
Nero. I wasn't aware that they had renamed that component.

If you temporarily uninstall Nero, this should cleanly remove the file I'm
thinking of. Does Movie Maker work during the time in which Nero is *not*
on your system?

While Nero is *on* the system, what are the results of WMP's
Help:About:Technical Support Information menu tool?
