Adobe CS3 Hangs at Initializing

Hey everyone,

I tried installing the trial for Adobe's After Effects program but when I run the Setup.exe, it will hang at initializing. Basically all that happens is the Initializing bar pops up, begins to fill out, but then closes and disappears before finishing. No installation takes place. If I look in the task manager, Setup.exe will be running with like 20,000k of memory. Also, in Add/Remove Programs, there will be an icon for After Effects that I can't remove unless I use the CS3cleaner that I found through researching.

If anyone could help me, I'd really appreciate it. My system specs are below:

Dell XPS M1330 Laptop
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit SP1
Intel Core Duo CPU 2.20GHz
2GB Ram

Thanks for any help anyone can provide

My first question is where did you get the files from....i.e. is it a bought CD or an iso.download or downloaded from adobe?

Re: Adobe CS3 Hangs at Initializing

It was a trial downloaded from Adobe's website:

video editing effects, video effects software | Adobe After Effects CS4

It's ok though, I figured it out and got it working. I had to go through and delete all instances of flash that I could find and after some trial and error, I got it installed.

I don't think I'm going to be able to figure this software out within the 30 day trial period though

Thanks for your help!
