| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Windows Photo Viewer zoom vs. Picture/Fax Viewer Using the old Windows Picture & Fax Viewer from XP, I can zoom in on any of my pictures almost all the way with hardly any pixellization whatsoever. Now I find that using the Photo Viewer in Vista, I literally cannot zoom in more than 1 step without the image becoming terribly blocky. Exact same image, exact same computer, just a different OS. Is there a way around this? |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Windows Photo Viewer zoom vs. Picture/Fax Viewer Yes, everything is exactly the same. The only difference is the program being used to open the images. It must be something with how the programs process the images. I've tried using FastStone and Irfanview as well. FastStone gives the exact same pixellization as Vista, and Irfanview is substantially better, but still not as good as the XP Picture/Fax Viewer. How is it that a throwaway app on XP is so superior to these other, supposedly more powerful programs at retaining image fidelity at high zoom levels? |
