No "Levels" tab for USB audio CODEC recording device

I am using a Pro-Ject USB II Phone Box to record LPs using Audacity.

The problem I have is that the Properties dialog for my USB audio CODEC
recording device has no "Levels" tab. It used to be there before I
re-installed Vista last week. I thought that updating the USB audio
CODEC driver might help, but Vista responds by saying my driver is the
latest one (Microsoft's Generic USB audio, version 6.0.6000.16386, date
21/06/2006).

How can I get my "Levels" tab back? I really need it for recording.
Thanks for any responses.

Re: No "Levels" tab for USB audio CODEC recording device

I Just downloaded a Microsoft "Hot-Fix" which installed a new USB audio
driver: version 6.0.6000.20550. Unfortunately, this did not add a
levels tab :-(

Hooray! It's fixed. For anyone experiencing this problem on Vista, the
answer is....

Install Vista service pack 1 ... the levels page will show up after you
do this.

:-)
