When dumping recorded TV shows onto DVD in WinXP I frequently write the
output to HDD and then run DVDShrink over it to get it down to the capacity
of a single sided DVD. There doesn't seem to be any facility in DVDMaker to
either shrink the output or write it anywhere but directly to DVD, and
although my DVD Authoring package, TMPGEnc DVD Author, runs fine on Vista,
it doesn't recognise the format that Windows Media Centre creates when
recording TV.

I have been shrinking the recorded component in Movie Maker before adding it
to a DVD Maker project.
