Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 with Vista RC2

Has anyone using this Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 with Vista RC2 Build 5744?
I managed to install drivers only but installation of software from the CD
is blocked.

Re: Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 with Vista RC2

I have the VX-3000, and I get the same results. I can get the driver
installed, but not the software. Quite ironic that Microsoft's own hardware
doesn't work with its own operating system!!

What's irritating that there is no link or any other direction shown
who is in fact the produce of this LifeCam. Obviously it's not
Microsoft as it is suggested by its name. It'd be interesting to
know when ( or if) the drives for Vista will be available for
this device.

Indeed...and it's not for the first time either...-

Re: Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 with Vista RC2

Good News,
VX-3000, works with Vista RC2 B-d 5744.
It's not the greatest vision but it works, even when I plugged it in
without the reboot of my PC.

So, at least one Video Cam works with Vista RC2 5744,
although the drivers must patched somehow at the later stage to enable
the full use of the video software, which at this time has limited
usability.

I find it weird that Microsoft woiuldn't support their own products
throughout the beta.

Re: Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 with Vista RC2

As has already been posted, even in this thread, we already know that the
Microsoft VX webcams work. You can install their drivers, but the software
doesn't install.

Indeed it is. However in the first instance only the camera worked
but the microphone not. I the second instance of trial both camera &
microphone
worked fine and of course software was still blocked. So, I thought it was
worth
to mention it.
