| Guest | music folder indexing takes a lot of processing time Hi, I'm using vistal ultimate on a cor 2 duo 2.0ghz with 2 gb ram. I'v a music folder that has got about 3.3gb of music files and folders. Whenever I goto that folder to place a new album or song, vista starts the indexing process which slows down the pc. During that time its hard to even rename a song or change its attributes. I wanted to know if its possible to make that indexing thread work its thing in the lowest processor priority? Also, is windows 7 any better in this? I am using win 7 but i havent migrated my songs folder to it. Umm, my system (c drive has got only 1.2gb hdd splace left, i guess thatwont be a problem? Also, i maybe getting 2gb of extra ram for all this to speed up, but than will have to use the 64bit versions of both vista n win7 that i'm using. But will b worth it than. regards, ...ab |
