ffdshow green flicker and settings

Hi everyone,

Like many, many people here I wanted to be able to play xVid etc on Vista.
I've followed the advice on here and started using ffdshow. It works an all,
and plays many files fine, but on others I get a very annoying flicker and
green bar at the bottom, and on some, right down the middle of the picture. I
hope this can be cured by adjusting the many settings available on ffdshow,
but having searched and searched the only suggestion I could find was to
X-offset (whatever that is) to 20-30, which hasn't helped.
Suggestions would be warmly welcomed, I must endure an 8 hour flight to L.A.
next week and I would like some entertainment along the way!!!

RE: ffdshow green flicker and settings

Well, I shall give myself a pat on the back, as i sorted it out myself -
thought I would share.

If you get green bars or flicker with ffdshow, which btw works well with
vista in my experience, go to the video decoder program, find the output menu
and make sure overlay mixer and hw interlacing are both ticked. Brilliant!

Please spread the work if you use any other forums
