WMP 11 accesses Internet without permission

Even though I have all the appropriate settings configured to prevent WMP
from accessing the Internet, it does so anyway. It still replaced hundreds
of high quality scanned images of my CD covers with the low quality 200x200
images from Microsoft.

The only setting checked on the Privacy tab is to set the clock on devices
and the only thing checked on the Library tab is to keep my star ratings as
global. In spite of this, WMP11 went to the Internet, downloaded the images,
and replaced my own images. This is reminiscent of Media Center. To keep my
Media Center PC from doing the same, I had to prevent the PC from ever
touching the Internet for any reason. I hope I don't have to do the same
thing with Vista!

In fact, I think it did so without even having WMP running on the desktop
because I almost never have WMP running. I do use WMP through COM in a
player I am developing but I almost never open the WMP UI. Now, to see for
sure if WMP checked the Internet even without having the UI running, I'll
have to restore from backup and watch for my scanned covers to get replaced
again.

Please, Microsoft, modify WMP to at least have an advanced setting that
prevents it from replacing or updating files.
