Vista - Data DVD burning

Hello techs,
I am attempting to burn data DVDs without the use of third party software in
Windows Vista Ultimate RC2 32bit. Problem is I cannot drag and drop files
onto the disc at all, can't copy files there, can't move them, nothing.
Instead the files just disappear. And by that they remain in their origianl
place but never move to the disc. I also do NOT get the little do not enter
sign saying i can't transfer the files.
I've installed third party software and it works fine, but I have a divx
player for my TV and would prefer to just be able to quickly and easily burn
the files without actually having to purchase or crack said software. Any
suggestions? i've already checked the KB and can't find a single thing about
this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
