| | Re: Will Windows Vista play DVDs? It will play them, but if you have a sound blaster sound card you won't hear the audio. Sound blaster does not supply vista drivers yet. They have beta crap available but none of it plays DVD audio. I finally found a free download of software called "AVSDVD Player" that works well with Windows Vista Home Basic (i.e. no extra decoder or changing of screen or color resolution required)!
