Will Windows Vista play DVDs?

Will Windows Vista play DVDs, or do you still have to buy DVD player
software?

Re: Will Windows Vista play DVDs?

It will play them, but if you have a sound blaster sound card you won't hear
the audio.

Sound blaster does not supply vista drivers yet. They have beta crap
available but none of it plays DVD audio.

Re: Will Windows Vista play DVDs?

I finally found a free download of software called "AVSDVD Player" that works
well with Windows Vista Home Basic (i.e. no extra decoder or changing of
screen or color resolution required)! Hope it works for you too. Larry
