| | Animated Gifs The picture viewing application on XP Pro and Home allowed viewing of animated .gif files, displaying the active animation. However, now that I've got Vista running on a different computer, those same files are displaying only as still images. I'm forced to switch back and forth between towers when I use these files (projects for work and the like), but soon I won't be able to switch towers so easily. Is there any way to get the vista application to display the animations? |

| | Re: Animated Gifs Windows Photo Gallery does not support animated gifs, unfortunately. IE7, or another graphics program can be set as default viewer for gifs. -- Jane, not plain 64 bit enabled :-)Batteries not included. | | Re: Animated Gifs Do you have any advice on which program I should use? The work I do with them makes viewing them in a slideshow, as was possible with XP, practically a necessity. Thanks =D "Jane C" wrote: > Windows Photo Gallery does not support animated gifs, unfortunately. | | Re: Animated Gifs This was exactly going to be my queton, gifs not displaying in Windows Photo Gallery - I remember ome video with some MS employee goign on about the gallery playing videos and how we would all go "wow" from the videos we ll forgot about...hmmm...it doesn't play gifs, I bet Jobs is pissing himself! | | RE: Animated Gifs I was looking on here to ask the same question. Is there any other way to view the gif images. For personal reasons, I will not use IE for any reasons. It is kinda dumb for them to have allow a picture program to show an animated picture. |

| | Re: Animated Gifs While I could list a whole bunch of things wrong with Vista that is making Jobs see dollar signs, I doubt seriously that Photo Gallery not playing animated gifs is one of those. | | Re: Animated Gifs What a silly thing to say, I know that - Vista defaults to that! What I am saying is that it should open the gif and animate it in photo viewer - I don't care if its not photo quality!
