| | Syncing Music to a Memory Card I seem to recall that in Beta versions of Vista, you could tell Media Player to sync files on a PocketPCs memory card, instead of the built in memory. However, I can not find this option on the Retail version? How do you tell Media Player to download files to a PocketPCs memory card instead of the built in memory? What am I missing? -Thanks! |

| | Re: Syncing Music to a Memory Card You're not missing anything. It's an egregious bug that's a literal slap-in-the-face to loyal adherents to the Microsoft vision of media-anywhere computing. I've been following this since Vista's release and the best I can tell you is that there WAS a Knowledge Base article on it and it's since been hidden or removed. It has something to do with the was that Vista enumerates USB devices. If you have WM5 AKU2 or later on your PPC you can disable Advanced Networking Functionality in Settings, Connections, USB to PC. Syncs will crawl but it will prove it's not your fault and just another in a long line of bugs in Vista. | | Re: Syncing Music to a Memory Card I believe there's some cases where certain properties (long device name?) can cause it to be invisible to Media Player 11 (on XP or Vista). At this point you would want to contact actual product support to check on that. -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
