Vista - Nero Install Error

Windows Installer is freezing on Nero 7...Of course, now I can not seem to
uninstall the program(which is only about 75%). When I go to remove programs
it freezes on uninstall, and if I try to get rid of this by restarting Nero i
get the error "Another Version is installing, please finish that installation
first".

How do I get rid of the Nero 7 program?

FYI 6 is also a no go.

I installed Nero6 on mine just fine. However, the main control panel for
Nero doesnt work. I can use each app individually though.

There are known problems with version 7. Some can't even get it to run the
install. There is a work around that some have gotten to work (running from
command line and bypassing the setupx file but didn't work for me.)

But I among many others have been able to install version 6.6.0.13 with
great success. Smartstart works fine as well as the Burning ROM. I've not
tried any of the others though as I pretty much never use them. Also the
codecs have helped a few media files play that wouldn't before.

As for getting rid of the program I'm not sure. You can obviously delete
the folder and the reg keys but I would suggest extreme caution on the
latter.

Yea, thanks for the information. I was not aware of others having trouble
until I tried to install this. I just finish doing a complete format and
re-installation on my media center. Seems to be working better. I will get
nero 6.6.01.3 as stated.

Thanks again for the information. Nero 6.01.6 also works with the exception
of Nero Express. Nero Burning Rom works great and also Smartstart, Media
Player, etc. Nerovision Express is the only one that does not work.
I believe the confict might lie in Windows DVD Maker, which is a new program
to Windows Vista. I am going to try to uninstall Windows DVD Maker and then
reinstall Nero 7.0.14b to see what happens. I will let you know what I find
out.
