| Guest | Media Player audio playback issue I have just bought a new Dell PC with Vista Home Premium pre installed. I transferred my music collection from my Iriver PMP manually (copying and pasting). When i play mp3s in media player, with about 10% of the track remaining - say 20 seconds to go, the track skips quite badly! Sounds strange i know - buts its for all the tracks!! I installed media monkey and it plays the mp3s fine so i figure its got to be media player. If i play the tracks through media center it does the same thing. Is any one else suffering from this issue? Have i missed something blatently obvious? I havent tried a DVD yet but thats on my to do list! Changing the sound settings for SigmaTel High Def Codec also dont seem to make too much of a difference!! Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance Ryan |

| Guest | RE: Media Player audio playback issue I too have this problem along with many others. No one seems to have an answer. Dell posted a new sound driver a couple days back but it did not help me. I spent a couple hours with Dell tech support but they know less than I. As many users that are asking about this problem will surely lead to a fix sooner or later...probably later :-) -- rsd "Ryan Kittendorf" wrote: > I have just bought a new Dell PC with Vista Home Premium pre installed. | Guest | Re: Media Player audio playback issue I also find that if I play just one song (i.e. no playlist) that there is not any stutter at the end of the song. With a playlist, at about 19secs from the end there is that stutter. Anyone having the stutter at the end of songs that does NOT have a DELL? (it also does not seem to be a loading problem on my Vista machine, I am currently doing a backup to DVD with the two cores peaking up to about 50% each at times and the drive working, no stutter if playing just one song.) | Guest | RE: Media Player audio playback issue Thanks Andy I have tried this but without success. In my case, i dont think its to do with the sigmatec drivers because mp3's play fine in winamp and media monkey - even with the sound enhancements on! It appears to me that its a bug with the way media player and media center handle moving on to the next track. If it was the sound card driver then it would surely happen in winamp as well...right?!?!
