| | 3 Irritating WMP11 problems Hi, I have 3 extremely annoying problems with wmp11 that were standard features of wmp10. 1. WMP10 would start up on the 'Now Playing' pane or whatever pane you were last using, wmp11 starts up in the library. 2. In wmp10, you could add files to the playlist in the 'Now Playing' pane, close wmp, re-open wmp and the items you put in the playlist would still be there. In wmp11, even with the appropriate 'remember file urls & locations' box checked the playlist is blank as soon as you navigate to the 'Now Playing' pane. 3. In wmp10 you could add files to the playlist and they wouldn't start playing until you clicked the play button. In wmp11, the first file starts playing as soon as you put it on the playlist. If anyone knows how to fix these 3 problems without rolling back to wmp10 it would be much appreciated, until then, I'll be sticking to winamp. I have asked this in 3 microsoft newsgroups but nobody could be bothered replying and Microsoft don't offer any free support for this product. |

Lack of personalization by not remembering how you closed WMP. You can get around it by copying the shortcut you use to open WMP and editing the copy. Right-click the copy and choose Properties. In the Target box, edit the target to have WMP open with the option you want. You can learn more at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa386383.aspx. Dale > > 2. In wmp11, even with the appropriate 'remember file urls & > locations' > box checked the playlist is blank as soon as you navigate to the 'Now > Playing' pane. Windows Media Player remembers what you had playing last. It just doesn't tell you that it remembered. A silly oversight on their part, I think. Someone else may say that it was by design and that millions of users petitioned or emailed requesting that WMP not show what was playing last. *shrug* In any case, it does remember. Just click Play. What you had in your Now Playing last will start playing and will show up in the list. Dale > > 3. Some like it one way; some like it the other way. Not much to get excited about here. > > If anyone knows how to fix these 3 problems without rolling back to wmp10 > it > would be much appreciated, until then, I'll be sticking to winamp. > I have asked this in 3 microsoft newsgroups but nobody could be bothered > replying and Microsoft don't offer any free support for this product. |

| | RE: 3 Irritating WMP11 problems I can not figure out how where they have hidden the "edit playlist" feature that was in the old Windows Media Player. Was it totally removed. I am finding the New Windows Media Player extremely frustrating and not user friendly. I am regretting buying Windows Vista. Maybe a Mac would be less annoying. Maybe its time to sell short Microsoft stock. Stephen -- gofigure "Ðave" wrote: > Hi, I have 3 extremely annoying problems with wmp11 that were standard > features of wmp10. > > 1.
