Vista - Video files thumbnails

Hey guys I spent the past 5 hours hunting the internet for a solution to my
problem with the video file thumbnails. First let me explain the problem.

I was able to see the thumbnails for pictures but not movies. I tried just
about every solution i found in the duscussion groups and then ventured out
into unfamiliar territory. It turned out to be my registry. Some of the
filetypes had been deleted. I am GUESSING that this was caused by Nero but i
cannot be sure of that. Below is the site link that afforded my answer.

I must warn you to read it carefully and definately back up your registry as
well as set a system restore point (help will guide you through the process).
Also I did not use the CCCP it reccomends, I will when I can though.

This worked for me but I cannot gaurantee the fix for you. I would try the
less intrusive methods first (folder view settings, codec packages, etc.)
before i messed with the registry. It is a dark scary place sith a lot of
letters and numbers!!
