| | Connecting an external satellite decoder to vista media center I had a windows xp media center ed. 2005 with an external satellite decoder connected throught Svideo. Media center 2005 had a wizard that ask you about if you have an external decoder to watch TV, in this case the computer ask you about the connection to capture the video. Now with windows vista there is no wizard that ask you that and i need to connect the decoder that way. Thank you in advance |

| | Re: Connecting an external satellite decoder to vista media center Are you running Vista Ultimate or Vista Home Premium? And the 32bit version or the 64 bit version? What TV tuner/video capture card do you have installed in your VISTA system and do you Vista MC compatible drivers for it installed for it? | | Re: Connecting an external satellite decoder to vista media center As best as I can determine your card does not support its analog tuner with MC since it does not have an MPE2 decoder onboard. Itill not support video capture either since again an onboad MPEG2 decoder chip is requied with MC compatible drivers. It will only support DVB-T video using its antenna connection with MC since DVB-T video is alrady encoded.
